Printing Department is the “Official Printer” of Kerala Government
Responsibilities of the Department
The primary responsibility of the Printing Department is to carry out any printing work given by the government or its departments or Public sector organisations under the government. Also it is the responsibility of the Printing Department to print and distribute Government publications as per the instructions of the government.
- Receiving the applications for name change, signature change, religion change and caste change, and publishing them in Gazette.
- Publishing the notifications of Universities, Corporations, Municipalities, Grama panchayaths and other LSGDs in Gazette.
- Publishing of notifications regarding chitties, court notifications, notice regarding will case, notice regarding legal heir ship certificates, notice regarding liquidation, notice regarding cancellation of power of attorney etc in Gazette.
- Printing, distribution and sale of Government calendar, diary and daily remembrances
- Printing and distribution of ballot paper and election forms.
- Printing and distribution of records, budget records, ballots and other records of Kerala Legislative Assembly.
- Printing and distribution of various forms, registers and publications (Indicate Judicial Vision) of High Court and other Courts.
- Printing and distribution of various forms and registers as required by Public Service Commission.
- Imposing of Stamp papers of higher value.
- A separate wing is functioning at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Central Press for the confidential printing of budget papers, reports and question papers for Government and other Departments.
- Printing of answer papers as required by Education Department.
- Printing and distribution of forms and registers required by various other Government Departments.
- Undertaking printing and distribution works of Corporations, Boards , and other Public Sector Organisations on payment basis .
- Printing works for Accountant General, Census Department, Provident Fund Department etc.
